Ah, yes, that's exactly the failure mode I had with modular Xorg on
i386/4.0, which I worked around (after hints from the community) by
putting (sleep 30; /etc/rc.d/xdm stop; /etc/rc.d/xdm start &) into
/etc/rc.local .

It seems to be no more problem with 4.0_STABLE now, but I didn't localte
the fix, so I don't really know.
