I'm writing a device driver and I want to test it on a
big-endian machine. A friend of a friend loaned me a
Motorola model DT604-100. It has a floppy disk and a
SCSI disk, two serial ports and a printer port, an SVGA
connector and PS/2-style keyboard and mouse connectors.
It has FirmWorks boot roms (see script below). There
was a CD rom in the drive labelled "Linux".
The most recent prep snapshot ALMOST boots from the
sysinst_com0.fs image; there are no signs of life when
booting from sysinst.fs, which presumably tries to use the
display and PS/2 ports. The com0 verson seems to die about
where Unix switches to multi-user mode. I tried supplying
a "-s" switch to the boot command hoping to stop at
single user. The boot command acknowledged the -s switch
but it still trapped at the same spot.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Here is a typescript beginning with pushing the boot button:
(I typed "printenv" and "boot" in response to "ok" prompts.)
