I never tried that but I wouldn't be surprised. If you want your
kernel to find its boot device, file name and such automatically you
need to update your boot loader. Lack of this is annoying when you're
using stuff like systat when running a kernel that's not /netbsd.
2) Is netboot of -current kernels broken?
Netboot of current kernel makes it silently reboot at the
root device prompt, but it can boot successfully from disk.
4.0 kernel netboots OK.
No idea either, I installed my O2 by netbooting 4.0 and later
upgrading to -current.
Maybe it's bootinfo fallout?
