I'm guessing that this is the place to reach people interested in porting
a UNIX to Dreamcast.
FYI, the last issue of British magazine DC-UK had a coverdisk demo of
Datel's "Action Replay" product. This disk boots, then allows you to
swap disks and boot a Dreamcast game with cheats installed, or an import.
The interesting thing about this CD, though, is that it is not
approved by Sega, and it is a conventional CD as opposed to a GD-ROM.
This means that Datel have discovered a way to boot a conventional CD,
overcoming any anti-piracy measures -- and CDR copies of the disk work too.
There's an image at http://jove.prohosting.com/~sonikku/Dc-cdx.rar -- which I
haven't tried myself. Apparently you need a windows app WinRAR to unpack it,
and a burning application called CloneCD (http://www.elaborate-bytes.com).
I wouldn't know where to start, myself, but I guess this would be the
ideal springboard for someone with an understanding of such things to
build a bootable NetBSD CD for Dreamcast?
