I know I'm probably losing my mind, but I could have sworn that the reason for
having "dev.cpio.gz" in the Theo binary distributions was because you could put
special files into CPIO archives.
Maybe I missed the explanation for why "dev.cpio.gz" still only contains
netbsd4me:1:49 % cpio -ivt < dev.cpio
40755 root 0 Jul 14 17:17:08 1994 dev
40755 root 0 Jul 14 15:46:18 1994 dev/fd
100555 root 1992 Jul 14 17:17:08 1994 dev/MAKEDEV.local
100555 root 6428 Jul 14 17:17:08 1994 dev/MAKEDEV
and not "console", etc.?
