First of all, you'll need to have the new-and-improved Sparc boot code 
installed .. the old code can't read the new filesystems.

If you can fsck a partition in single-user, you should have no problems 
converting your filesystems.  I've had no trouble doing this on my N 
sparcstations here at work.
