I get the exact same error msg on my SparcStation 1 with 4MB of RAM.
And it is trivial to reproduce and there is no network usage at all
when I'm trying this.
In order to reproduce do the following:
1) reboot system
2) ifconfig le0 <machine name>
3) mountd
4) nfs mount a directory from a Solaris machine
BOOM..
Thats how easy it is.
