Followup:

A dynamic determination of pagesize for a pagemove() in the CD-ROM
driver would probably be a wise idea.  Something's blowing up in
there when both "SUN4" and SUN4C" are defined.

My checking of NFS was purely a paranoid move since that's when it
blew up the first time.  But it all works now.  Thanks to all
for the pointers.
