whoops..this is strange-I no longer  get
'sw0: options=1<DMA>'.. This is with current... the sw
driver isno longer using dma.. (4/110).  although it has
some potentially serious bugs, none of them seem to actually corrupt the
filesystem and the added speed is well..needed ;)
