i don't see these errors on my netbsd/sparc machine (current from
maybe 2 weeks ago).  i've been running with between 1 and 6 scsi
devices on my elc(s) for over a year now.

maybe you could try out openbsd..  maybe that sparc scsi driver
works for your hardware..  and let us know how it goes  :-)
