I just found another problem with the new si.c. I haven't
done a backup in a month or so... so it's badly overdue. I'm trying
to be good to the drive, do I did a

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rst0 bs=10240

which is something that I've done before --- but I'm trying to
find out if the tapes that I have are the right length. Anyways, the
kernel responded with:

Mar 2 12:35:34 repeat mrouted[90]: mrouted version 3.5
Mar 2 12:35:34 repeat mrouted[90]: can't enable Multicast routing in kernel: Operation not supported

This message is new, BTW ----^^^^

Mar 2 12:35:35 repeat lpd[94]: restarted
Mar 2 12:35:57 repeat init: kernel security level changed from 0 to 1
Mar 2 12:42:36 repeat /netbsd: zs0a: fifo overrun
Mar 2 13:01:54 repeat login: ROOT LOGIN (root) ON ttyb
Mar 2 13:03:19 repeat /netbsd: si0: SCSI bus busy, resetting...
Mar 2 13:03:21 repeat /netbsd: si0: SCSI bus busy, resetting...
Mar 2 13:03:22 repeat /netbsd: st0(si0:4:0): unit attention, data = 00 00 00 00 00 00
Mar 2 13:03:22 repeat /netbsd: st0: bad request, must be between 512 and 512
Mar 2 13:03:41 repeat /netbsd: si0: SCSI bus busy, resetting...
Mar 2 13:03:45 repeat last message repeated 4 times
Mar 2 13:03:45 repeat /netbsd: st0: bad request, must be between 512 and 512

I have been able to write block sizes larger than 512 (I know
they get broken up), and I usually do since it's more efficient.

The tape drive in question is a Viper-150 (SCSI).

Dave.
