On the other hand, the Linux effort has a much wider base of
contributors, with a much wider distribution of 'quality', from
the very bad to the very good. I would hat e to have to tar the
whole of the Linux project(s) with the same brush because of our
individual experiences with parts of the OS.
I would be very intertesed in seeing many of David Miller's work
finding its way (throught the form of ideas, not code) into
NetBSD/sparc. The same may apply to the other ports. The main
problem as I see it, is not the quality of the ideas coming from
Linux (and other OSes), but the number of people actively working
on NetBSD.
