i had very similar behavior and it was because of how i was running
the nfsd on the netbsd side. it turned out i wasn't specifiying any
transport when i started nfsd (i just ran "nfsd"), and as a
consequence, (so i've concluded), none was running. the mount would
succeed but it'd just hang waiting for a response from the nfs
server. running with some options to specify UDP and/or TCP fixed
the problem for me. hope that's of some help...
