Yeah, sounds really like this kind of problem some sparcs seem to
have. I've had this with my SLC, booting from an IPX (both NetBSD) or
PC (FreeBSD). I faked an arp-entry with
/usr/sbin/arp -s <hostname_of_diskless_client> <MAC-Address>
and it worked...
