Sorry for the stupid question, I wasn't sure if I should
send this to -questions or -sparc..
Anyhow, I installeed 1.2.1 for the SS1 I got for dirt
cheap. This is my first time installing NetBSD, and first
Unix box really. I got everything up and running, looks
super. The only annoying thing I get is an occasional:
le0: overflow
It happens whenever I set my display over from a much
faster box and run things like netscape 4.0. Of course,
when I'm in X this totally screws up my screen :-)
I tried chagnging /etc/syslog.conf to point *.err
to a log file instead of the console. No luck. On a related note,
I can't seem to get xconsole to open /dev/console.. How do I
do this?
The other thing I see *rarely* is:
zs1b: fifo overrun
There doesn't seem to be any ill effect, but anytime the swap
partition complains I get nervous :-) Should I be worried about
this or is this just part of running older, slower equipment?
TIA for any help,
-Mark
P.S. I've never been happier with computer than I am right noww
with this old Sparc1 and NetBSD. Super job! Are there many changes
planned for NetBSD 1.3 on the sparc?
