	The limit is based on the scsi command length used by the PROMS on
older Sun Sparc systems.  They use a 6-byte block address rather than an
8-byte block address, or something like that.  I don't remember the
details, but they are in the archives of current-users I believe.  It also
applies to Sun3 systems as well.
