I've just acquired an IPC with not much disk space (207M). I added an
external disk (another 207M), but I can't use it. If I try something
(e.g. disklabel, newfs) things are fine until the command finishes. At
that point, I see :
(esp0:1:0): selection failed; 0 left in FIFO [intr 18, stat 83, step 3]
sd1(esp0:1:0): esp0: timed out: [ecb 0xf02a10c8 (flags 0x1, dleft 0, stat 0)], <s
tate 2, nexus 0xf02a10c8, phase(l 3, c 3, p 3), resid 0, msg(q 20, o 0) >
sd1(esp0:1:0): esp0: timed out: [ecb 0xf02a10c8 (flags 0x41, dleft 0, stat 0)], <
state 2, nexus 0xf02a10c8, phase(l 3, c 3, p 3), resid 0, msg(q 20, o 0) > AGAIN
esp0: SCSI bus reset
sd1(esp0:1:0): max sync rate 4.03Mb/s
esp0: !TC on DATA XFER [intr 10, stat 83, step 1] prevphase 2, resid 0
sd0(esp0:3:0): max sync rate 4.80Mb/s
The disks probe as :
probe(esp0:1:0): max sync rate 4.03Mb/s
sd1 at scsibus0 targ 1 lun 0: <QUANTUM PD210S SUN0207, 429W> SCSI2 0/direct fixed
sd1: 199MB 1156 cyl, 7 head, 50 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 408574 sectors
probe(esp0:3:0): max sync rate 4.80Mb/s
sd0 at scsibus0 targ 3 lun 0: <MAXTOR LXT-213S SUN0207, 4.17> SCSI2 0/direct fixed
sd0: 202MB 1310 cyl, 7 head, 45 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 415346 sectors
I'm running a -current with just SUN4C support in from Feb 9 on it. The
disk did work as the boot disk for an ELC before I attached it to the IPC.
Has it died in the interim?
Thanks,
J
