FWIW I've seen similar results trying to netboot a classic from a
NetBSD 1.4/sun4c and Solaris 2.6 (Ultra 60).
I'd been netbooting these machines for ages and couldn't work out what
had broken... when I rebooted the sun4c with a kernel that did NOT have
IPv6 enabled it all just worked again.
I sent some details to this list - last year I think.
