Thanks for your info.

Well, I'm not sure the old 8617 you mention is how old is, though(my
monitor is around 3 year old)if my monitor is old enough that he refuses
1152x900x76(seems it's the default), can I change the resolution to
1152x900x66 or 1024x768x77 by following _blind_ typing?

ok> setenv output-device screen:r1152x900x66(or screen:r1024x768x77)
ok> reset
