That's pretty strange, but good to know.  It seems that if the admin were
protecting the NVRAM via a password, they'd use it to prevent meddling
people from futzing with it (darn those meddling kids ;-).  To have a
keystroke essentially disable the NVRAM security seems a bit contradictory
to me... but I can't argue with the facts.
