Hiya

I have a Javastation I (mr coffee) that I am trying to get to run NetBSD. I
have followed the instructions in Diskless NetBSD HOWTO, and have got the
machine booting a kernel successfully.

My problem arises once the machine has finished booting the kernel and tries
to go through the init scripts. If I have rc_configured=NO in rc.conf, the
kernel panics immediatly after the line "rc.conf not configured, Multiuser
boot aborted".

If I set the line to rc_configured=YES, multiuser boot proceeds as normal,
and then the kernel panics immediatly on completion of the rc scripts.

I have tried this using both the 20000505 and the 20000620-1.5 snapshots,
and both die at exactly the same place, albeit with slightly different error
messages. The 20000620-1.5 snap gives me the line

 data fault: pc=0xf0046360 addr=0x20 sfsr=26<PERR=0,LVL=1,AT=1,FT=1,FAV,OW>
 panic: kernel fault
 syncing disks...

It appears to me that the problem is something to do with the kernel opening
the console, since I can get the rc scripts to do anything I want except
let me use the machine interactively. I am using a standard PS/2 keyboard,
and a svga monitor as my console. The contents of /var/log/messages (nearest
I cam come to a dmesg) is attached.

Any help in getting this to work would be greatly appreciated, since I
really don't want to have to run linux on the machine ;-)
