I've got an SS5 w/ tcx 24-bit AFX framebuffer installed. It has a stock
installation of NetBSD/sparc 1.5_ALPHA_ taken from the 20000620
snapshot. When I run X, the display is often interrupted by console
messages which the framebuffer writes over the X desktop. This is quite
annoying as it means everytime I su I get my display messed up. There
has got to be an obvious way to solve this problem, but I haven't been
able to find it. How can I either redirect console messages to a window
or ensure that these messages will not interrupt my X display?
Also, is there support for the tcx framebuffers in 24-bit mode? Xsun24
seems to run it in 8-bit mode. I know how to manipulate color depths w/
XFree for ia32 hardware, but have never done it with sparc. I'd
appreciate a pointer to get me started on making it work in 24-bit mode.
