*) Can you confirm the mouse worked previously (i.e., in Solaris?)

*) I'm pretty sure Sun keyboard/mouse are rouge serial interface'd.  Did
you try simply unplugging/re-plugging the mouse from the keyboard - I'm
pretty sure it won't damage it.
