Please note that this is a limitation of NetBSD/sparc version 1.5 and earlier.
The next release will support memory bank configurations in which the
first bank is empty. Of course, the hardware has to support, but that is
generally the case on sun4m class machines (and most certainly
on the SS4 and SS5)
