I'm trying to install 1.5.3 on an old IPC.  I put in a Seagate ST3600N
out of a Mac Quadra800 without any changes to the jumpers and without
removing the terminator resistors.

When I run "(I)nstall", I get an error after replying 'y' to "Do you
wish to edit disklabel?".  I get the same error if I drop out of the
installation environment (^C) and try to use `disklabel sd0 > st3600`
from the shell prompt.  The error is:

  "disklabel: ioctl DIOCGDINFO: Operation not supported by device"

Is there anything that can be done to get a usable partition table
on the disk?  The next-largest disk I have (280MB) is too small for
what I want to use the machine for.  TIA
