If you can burn a copy of the NetBSD Live! cd (from
ftp.netbsd.org) you should be able to boot a random PC
from the CD and setup the various daemons without needing
to touch the disk with windows installed (though you will
probably want to save the config in case you need to do
it again :) Not a permanent solution in your case I know...

'scsictl /dev/rsd0c stop' will stop a disk, but its quite
likely the scsi controller wil not handle that particularly
gracefully when it wants to access the disk next :)
