Besides this nits, I use

CFLAGS+= -pipe
CFLAGS+= -mv8 -mtune=supersparc

for my krups and the kernel works fine - but that's a completely different
machine, of course.

Does a kernel with default options boot? What's next in the boot message
after the part it hangs now?
