Hi,

I just got an old DAT 8mn streamer that was previously
used on a PC thru an Parallele / SCSI adapter.

I put it on the second SCSI bus of my SS5 workstation
and NetBSD 1.6 discovers it as :

st0 at scsibus1 target 5 lun 0: <HP, HP35480A, 1109>
SCSI2 1/sequential removable
st0: density code 19, variable blocks, write-enabled
st0: sync (200.0ns offset 8), 8-bit (5.000MB/s)
transfers

Unfortunatly, I can't save anything, every time I'm
doing a "tar cvf /dev/st0 my_file", the time is
rewinder, fastforwed rewinder ... for ever.
I can't saw on the console

I don't think it's due to the tape itself as, when the
tape contains write error, its led flash in yellow
that is not the case.

The tape is a DDS-1

Does someone has any idea to make it working ?

Another thing : the only way to stop 'tar' is to
reboot the machine. kill, Control+C, ... don't do
anything but hang the console.
