Tragedy Guys,

it was going so well. I had my hopes up.

During build of clisp, it got up to dependency "pcre-6.6"
then the same thing happened again.

( remember fresh install and package source )

I ended up with a shell prompt and no messages.
But the process's still running in the background.
It stopped in the configure stage:

>>>
Registering info files for readline-5.1pl1nb1:

        /usr/pkg/info/history.info
        /usr/pkg/info/readline.info

WHAT ???
it just stopped dead here. no message.

see what shell etc:

# echo $SHELL

# pwd
/usr/pkgsrc/devel/pcre/work/pcre-6.6

I think it's had it guys.
Perhaps it is a hardware fault.

Think I'll get the sparcstation 2 out of the cupboard.
Slower but i think it will work.

Suggestions welcome.

Paul.
