Re: installing NetBSD on a Sparcstation 2.
sun4c systems do support CD-ROM boot, but possibly not with all CD-ROM drives.

BTW you can simply try iso image in 5.1_RC3:
ftp://ftp.NetBSD.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-5.1_RC3/iso/sparccd-5.1_RC3.iso
but I'm not sure sun4c machines support cdrom boot.
