It really depends on what you're planning on doing.  The major issues are
related to the compiler.  C++ and floating point code generation is just
plain broken.  Since lots of packages from pkgsrc are either in C++ or make
use of floating point, they don't work too well.  Others are not 64-bit
clean.

On the other hand, the kernel's pretty solid and does not lock up like
x86 does.
