Unlikely. I think the object file got dropped because none of its 
symbols were referenced by anything else.

Please check your xf86Bus.c, see if xf86SbusProbe() gets called in 
there - if not that may be the reason why the object file was dropped. 
Without it the Xserver won't find any SBus of UPA graphics devices.
