It works ok for me on netbsd-4, i386, Quantum LTO2.
And on netbsd-4, sparc64, DDS3.
thats odd. I think I have a DD3 drive too (somewhere) I will check this
and report back.

ok finally i have time to check this. It's my testing disk so NetBSD 4.99.55 is
installed.
With this drive it is ok:
