Panic of netbsd-8
I just picked up a Sun Fire v245, installed netbsd-8 from NetBSD-daily,
downloaded pkgsrc and started compiling. I left it running overnight and
in the morning, this was on the console:
Mar 7 05:34:59 sparky su: john to root on /dev/pts/0

So I compiled a kernel with DIAGNOSTIC, then rebooted. Then booting stops here:
brgphy3: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, 1000baseT, 1000baseT-FDX, auto

mpt0: interrupting at ivec 1f8f
SIR
ERROR: Software Initiated Reset has occurred.
WARNING: sync callback did not work.
Probing system devices
Then I saw all of the messages on this list under "NetBSD-8.xx fails to
boot on ultra 45", so I compiled a kernel with SSIZE set to 4. Now I can
boot.
Is it likely that my panic was due to the stack size? Is the needed stack
proportional to the amount of memory in a system? Mine has 16 gigs.
Thanks,
John
