Subject: Some strange observations!

I noticed the following strange thing!
To prove that NetBSD is SUNOS compatible, I copied
sunos-4.1:/usr/kvm/eeprom to my NetBSD system.

Using the command "file eeprom" I get on my Sun 3/50 running
NetBSD-current ( or near-current! ) the following:

    eeprom: setgid 8086 relocatable (Microsoft)

On a Sun 3/50 running SUNOS 4.1 I get

eeprom: mc68020 demand paged dynamically linked set-gid executable

There must be a problem with the magic file!

The executable itself runs fine, without any problems, and proves
the NetBSD is SUNOS compatible.

Is there any chance that Sunview will be supported in the near future? Using
ktrace I noticed that I tries to "/dev/win...." and exits immediately when
this can't be opened!

Regards,

Harry Schreurs
