2 questions about console - 

With the upgrade to 1.1, it seems that my console login is now
actually on /dev/kd, not /dev/console.  Any reason for this? and
is it a problem?

and on a related note, xconsole is not trapping console messages,
they are overwriting the bottom of my X display, which needless to
say, is annoying.  could this be because i am logged in on kd, and
not console...


here is what they both look like
