I don't think so. The scsi driver does not do synchronous mode, so
all transfers will go only as fast as both parties permit.
The "wanted 10 got 6" does not indicate any sort of I/O underrun.
It means the device switched to a new phase before a complete
command was transfered (where the command length is determined
by the SCSI-II specification).
Another possibility cause for those errors is incorrect termination...
