After I upgraded to a -current kernel, and a new ld.so and libkvm,
this seems to have subsided...at least on my system.  I used to
have xinit/xclock/xterm/etc dump core, and leave the system in a
weird state very often on my 3/110, but the upgrade seems to have
mostly cured this.
