Sure.  It wouldn't even be so terrible if some of those ifdefs stayed
long term, since dev/sun isn't truly MI anyway.  It would be bad in
dev/pci or /isa or whatever, but in this case there are only two
architectures that can use it anyway, and we know what they are. 

Not that I'm volunteering for any of this, mind you -- I only just found
time to start keeping up on the lists again :-(
