Theoretically, the floppy drive in the 3/80 (and SPARCstations) is an NEC
765 standard floppy drive, that is to say, standard PC/AT, with extra
header pins for ejecting the floppy. You could try to plug in a PC/AT
drive but you will come up a few pins short (and possibly wrong.) If
you're the cautious type, I'd check the pinouts before preceding.
(If anyone is truly interested in researching the pins, I have the
datasheet for the Intel floppy chip used in the 3/80.)
