What kernel did you try to boot? Unless I am mistaken, the 3/400 series are
"sun3x" (mc68030) machines; this will require the GENERIC3X kernel if it is
to work at all, and I'm not sure about the state of "sun3x" support for the
3/400 series (the desktop 3/80 works).
