Interesting.

I hadn't noticed; I use xpdf to read PDF files on my NetBSD systems
these days, and I'm much happier with it than with
ghostscript. Besides handling more PDF files, it doesn't have to
perform the entire PDF->PS translation before starting to display, so
startup time is much faster and the memory footprint is smaller, and
it's acutally feasable to look at 1000-page PDF files without going
for a cup of coffee.
