Actually YES, even if DEC never used that in their OS'es. It's just a
normal 5380 in there; the only major difference to VS3100 SCSI is that
one cannot frob the device registers during a transfer, which can be
done on 3100 under some circumstances. (I don't remember correctly
right now).
