while on the subject of CMD Qbus scsi adapters.... *grin*

anybody have any ideas why a CQD440 wouldnt be bootable? ive got one disk 
hung off of one right now (a wren-7) and i can see it and use it just fine
from an already booted system, but regardless of what is on the disk, 
(didnt try VMS yet, but i did even try ultrix), the thing won't boot. Other
disks give the same problem. i even dd'ed the disk that the machine does boot
from onto to bit for bit to make sure ithad boot blocks and everything, 
no luck. I can label it, so it is not a problem with the label/boot block 
region being not writable. Has anyone else seen a similar problem? 
the processor is a KA650, otherwise the machine just has a couple DHV11's and
a delqa in it, and an emulex UC07 that the other disks are on. Yes, i 
tried removing the UC07 and reconfiguring the CMD to be the only MSCP 
controller, that didnt work either. All the settings are what they should 
be.. is there something i dont know about these boards?? 

any ideas are appreciated!!
