Yes. The SCSI adapter of VAXstations is normaly at ID 6. So I recommend
changing the boot disk to ID 0 or ID 1, do a "set boot dka100" or the
like und your external disk should run at ID3 fine without pushing the
boot disk to "sd1". Also, there is some "SET ..." cmd in the boot PROM
to change the SCSI adapter ID to 7. I can not remember exactely, but I
did that on my VAXstation 4000-60.
