I don't think it hurts it, but I somehow managed to fry my main board by 
simply disassembling and re-assembling it (yes I put everything back where 
it belongs :-)
Since you don't _need_ to remove it to run headless I'd suggest you leave 
it alone if you aren't replacing it.
