Yep, tested on a VS4000/60, leclose() is called now and system still boots fine. Thanks! :) Don't know yet if this will solve the problems I see, though I think it can never be wrong to close what you opened.
I can also test "ze" in real V4000/200 and VS4000/96, but for "qe" I can only offer SIMH (although I have a spare DEQNA, but without cable assembly).
It would be good if Charles could test a fixed loader with his machine (and qe) which showed the real problem mentioned in his posts.
I dropped the patched -current loader with debug printf here: http://www.flxd.de/netbsd/vax/bootShould show something like "XXX qeclose() XXX" just before the copyright notice starts.
