Re: When was selfhosting broken?

As far I can remember, it was already broken at 5.2. C++ compilations don't even get completed, and C++ executables have issues. This hits roff, if I remember right, which one of the tools built, so you never get past building even the tools.

(All a bit fuzzy memory)

There might have been additional issues, but that's the one that stands out in my memory.

As for exactly when it stopped building, I don't remember anymore.

I care because I've got a VAX 3100-80. It seems to work with 5.2
cross-compiled (from amd64) and I'm wondering if I can expect it to
self-host. Also, what was the symptom when it didn't work? If nobody
recalls when it broke, then I'd like to know what to look for; also,
depending on what the issue is, I may be able to work around it.
