Strange, but I created the devices as you posted here but still
same problem:

[juan@Mandylion][~]> ls -l /dev/sda*         
brw-rw----  1 root  wheel  8, 1 Apr 20 16:13 /dev/sda1
brw-rw----  1 root  wheel  8, 2 Apr 20 16:13 /dev/sda2
[juan@Mandylion][~]> sudo xm create -c /etc/xen/ttylinux
Using config file "/etc/xen/ttylinux".
Error: Error creating domain: vbd: Device not found:  sda1
