Worked in my case too (for vnd image). Replacing
disk = [ 'file:/serv/xen/domains/netbsd/shell.yazzy.org,xbd0a,w' ]
with
disk = [ 'file:/serv/xen/domains/netbsd/shell.yazzy.org,0x03,w' ]
did the trick. The XENU host booted.
